Pichu is a local external oil application superior to Abhyanga in potency and used on affected parts, like the lower back, throat, head, joints, etc. Dried cotton cloth having the sufficient size covers the area of application. The thickness of cloth should be preferably that of the patient’s palm. A hole is made in the centre of the cloth to pour oil periodically. Treatment duration varies according to the patient’s condition.
